Introduction: Best Black is simple low temperature black oxide system. (90 C) in a new and totally unique blacking method for iron and non stainless steel and iron casting. It is a very good substitute for the conventional process which operates at 160 -180 C.

Descaling and Decreasing:

• Hardened Steel: Use 20% to 30% (W/V) Caustic Soda, Temp 85-90 C, Soaking time 5-10 min
• Unhardened Steel: Use 10% to 20% (V/V) caustic Soda and 5% - 10% (V/V) Metal Cleaner Temp. 85-90 C Soaking Time 5-10 mins
• Pickling: Use 10%-20% (V/V) Concentrated Sulfuric Acid, Temp: 40-45 C, Time: 2-10 mins
• Use 40%-5% (V/V) Concentrated Hydrochloric Acid Temp: 35-45 C, Time: 2-10 mins
• First Dip LT-11: Make 25%-30% (V/V) Temp. 35 C Immersion Time 3-5 mins
• Second Dip LT-22: Make 40% (V/V) Temp. 85-90 C. Time 15-20 mins
• Until Informally Black in color
• Sealing: Oil Coat OC 220: 100% Temp. 25-30 C, Soaking Time 2-5 mins
• Cutting Oil (25%) and Diesel (25%) 50% water for temporary Protection
